Blissful By Melissa SUP Yoga Teacher Training is designed to prepare you to effectively, confidently and safely teach safe and fun yoga classes on the water while taking in the pure beauty of nature. SUP yoga combines the healing benefits of nature and yoga in a way that is accessible to all ages and skill levels. SUP & SUP yoga is one of the fastest growing fitness and water trends! Through this training, you receive 16 hours of continuing education for Yoga Alliance and the skills and confidence to guide beginners and advanced practitioners through a safe SUP yoga practice. This training consists of on water practice and dockside lessons.
This experience is also perfect for non-teachers and SUP enthusiasts who wish to immerse themselves in SUP and SUP yoga for a weekend! This training is great for those that want to feel more confident and comfortable out on the water! Join us to build your confidence and grow your knowledge of different bodies of water, wind and weather along with handling and transporting equipment!
Blissful By Melissa SUP & SUP Yoga Teacher Training includes and covers:
- Equipment for the duration of training.
- Safety – Safety awareness, marine hazards, knowledge of weather, tides, wind and currents.
- Equipment – Board anatomy and handling, launching, landing and transporting.
- Beginner SUP – Clear, concise methods for instructing stand up paddle boarding.
- SUP Skills – Different strokes, turn techniques and maneuvering.
- Anchor Systems – How to anchor and create your own anchor system.
- SUP Yoga – Learn proper alignment cues for yoga poses and learn how to create sequences.
- Business of SUP Yoga – Starting your SUP business, insurance, permits and waivers.
- Photos to remember your experience.
- If you’re a yoga instructor, you’ll receive a Yoga Alliance certified Blissful By Melissa SUP Yoga certification.
- Ongoing support and advice.
Melissa is the creator of Blissful By Melissa, a health and wellness company dedicated to bringing bliss to peoples lives through SUP yoga, yoga, reiki, and meditation! Since a young child, Melissa had been drawn to the freedom and healing qualities of being out on the water. Throughout her life, Melissa had a deep desire to share these precious gifts with others but wasn’t quite sure how, until she took her first SUP yoga class! Her first time practicing yoga on a paddle board was magical, combining her two great loves was a match made in heaven. As time went on it was only natural for Melissa to expand her yoga practice by attending a SUP Yoga Teacher Training in Miami, as soon as she returned home she couldn’t wait to share all of the knowledge and bliss with the community. Melissa has truly loved offering classes and trainings on the water and loves encouraging, inspiring and empowering people to deepen their connection to themselves and nature.
Melissa designed this program for everyone, not just yoga teachers! Melissa had a deep desire to create a program that will help you build your knowledge and confidence on the water. Trainings are kept small so there is plenty of one on one time, time for questions and support.
Melissa is a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT 200 Yoga teacher who completed a private SUP Yoga Teacher Training through Yoga-Water and has offered over 3,000 SUP yoga and yoga classes and trainings throughout Connecticut over the last 6 years. In her free time, you can find Melissa playing on her paddle board, traveling, spending time outdoors, dreaming about Bali and spending time with family and friends.
