Melissa introduced our family to yoga in 2013 and we have been attending her weekly classes ever since. Through Melissa’s guidance of yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques, our family has become closer, healthier, less stressed, and more peaceful. Release from the drone of weekly stress seems to dissipate immediately once class has started. Often times we come to class tight and tense but gradually the body is taken through a flow of postures, balances, and stretches until we reach a place of true relaxation and peace. The hour-long class ends with a feeling of well-being and inner peace, which is a fantastic way to start the weekend, this feeling continues through the weekend into the start of the next week. Melissa has a peaceful gentle presentation, offering a class filled with poses that gracefully flow one into the next, the pace and flow from beginning to end is wonderful, even, steady and calming. We are extremely fortunate and grateful to have Melissa guide us through our continued discovery of the wonderful gift of yoga.

Yogi Extraordinaire!! Melissa is pure grace in motion. Her practices embody the true spirit of yoga where she creates a serene, positive, sacred and safe space to practice. Yet, she leads her students through subtle and challenging flows. I call her ‘Sneaky Melissa” because she quietly lulls you into a soft meditative space…all while your body is working hard. Her classes take students beyond the physical to a more meditative and mindful place. As a yoga teacher myself, Melissa is a true inspiration about how to share the gifts of joy and yoga with students.
As a yoga studio manager, I believe Melissa would be a valued asset in any teaching setting, and as such, I would heartily recommend her. She can teach to a variety of levels in a single class as she offers many modifications to allow all students to feel their own abilities shine. I have taken many yoga classes over the years and I love taking classes with Melissa. Her teaching style is creative and challenging. She makes class exciting teaching advanced poses with a lighthearted attitude that makes them fun to practice. When I leave class I am relaxed but I also feel like I have pushed myself. I have also attended some of Melissa’s workshops, which she teaches with enthusiasm. I love taking Melissa’s yoga classes and workshops! Her specialty classes always offer a great variety from gentle candlelight yoga, gentle yoga with essential oils, restorative yoga with gongs, to fun classes like yoga with live drumming and yoga with glow sticks. Whatever class she teaches I always leave feeling great with renewed energy. My favorite workshop is New Year’s Evolution: A Vision Board workshop which is at the beginning of each year. Melissa guides the class on how to illustrate their dreams and goals for the upcoming year keeping you focused on what really matters. And that really makes a difference! Melissa’s classes are a great combination of stretching and strength. She teaches at a level that allows for accommodation of all members of the class and provides modifications for increased intensity. Her facial massage assists during savasana add a nice element of relaxation.
